I hope this message finds you well. We are pleased to announce the opening of a Janitor position (Job # 240200) at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). The janitor will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in rail stations and support facility offices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cleaning rail station platforms, elevator interiors, escalator panels, and public restrooms
• Cleaning support offices and restrooms
• Cleaning exterior areas of rail stations and support facilities, including sidewalks, ramps, dome tops, and bus bays/loops
• Systemwide cleaning of biohazardous waste in rail stations and support facilities
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
Experience
- No prior work experience required.
Certification/Licensure
- A valid driver license issued from District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia or from jurisdiction of residence
