I am stepping down from maintaining dc.js and crossfilter at the end of 2022. (I will still be around, but have moved onto other things.)

Deepak Kumar has volunteered to be the active maintainer of dc.js, but he needs your help:

* Beta testing new versions and features
* Refactoring, adding features, and fixing bugs
* Improving documentation
* Answering questions on GitHub Issues, Stack Overflow, and mailing list

He's also standing in as maintainer of crossfilter until someone suitable can take over.

Please email us if you are interested in becoming a maintainer.

dc@5
Deepak is taking dc.js in a new direction in dc version 5, available in the dc-v5 branch.

Design goals include:
* Simplifying and modularizing code; separating concerns
* Server-side filtering and aggregation directly supported without workarounds
* Fully ported to Typescript
* Saving and restoring filters

Due to fixing longstanding issues with dc.js, the interface will not be backward compatible, but there are [codemods](https://github.com/dc-js/dc-codemods) to ease the transition.

Hi Gordon,

Thank you for all your selfless help and support all these years. Without you, dc.js will never lasted this long and remained useful after it's inception many years ago. Soon after I initially created dc.js, I got pulled away by my start-up at that time. Back then I had never thought it would've been used by so many people for so long. You and countless contributors have made this happen; even with a Linda course on it https://www.linkedin.com/learning/dc-js-for-data-science-essential-training 😃

Nice to e-meet you Kumar. V5 roadmap looks fantastic. Even though I am no longer involved in dc.js, I am always a big supporter and fan. Looking forward to seeing where the you and our community will lead dc.js to.

Thanks,
Nick
