"One thing that drives me crazy is that there is no central
repository
to seek players and games. I feel like I have to post on half a dozen
lists just to find players. There's all the Meetup groups, the dcrpg
Yahoo group, the ENWorld boards, the Wizards boards, etc, etc. For
D&D, throw in the RPGA boards in this area, and the number of sources
of information is staggering."
~Local Gamer
Are you a RPG GM with a great game but not enough players? Are you an
RPG player who'd rather be adventuring but is stuck Looking For
Group?
To make looking for games and/or players easier, local RPG Meetup
groups have developed the DC RPG Mailer as a single, cross-group RPG
announcement email list .
The DC RPG Mailer is a regional resource to help connect Washington
DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland RPG players looking to start or
join a local RPG. Much like posting a "Looking for Group" ad at your
friendly local game shop, the DC RPG Mailer sends periodic e-mails
(1-2 times a month) announcing local games seeking players and
players
seeking games.
To subscribe to the DC RPG Mailer and receive the periodic game
announcements, you can join the Announcement-Only google group here:

If you are looking to join a game or for players to join your game
and
you would like to have your name or game added to the next DC RPG
Mailer, please email your game ad to
dcrp...@gmail.com with the
following information:
========================
Name & Email address (ex: Joe Bob,
joe...@notarealemail.com)
Location & Availability (ex: Arlington, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday
evenings)
A Short Blurb -- describing the game you're running or what you'd
looking to play, here are a few examples of what that might look
like:
========================
Here are some examples of where this mailing list is beneficial:
Example 1: Two players and one DM looking for two or three more
players. We are running the Pathfinders Rise of the Runelords
adventure path. Currently on adventure 3 out of 6, the Hook Mountain
Massacre. We currently meet weekly on Thursday evenings (7 - 11)
close
to the Twinbrook metro on the red line.
Example 2: I'm relatively new to DC and I'm looking for a game to
join. I've been playing various RPGs off and on for the last 10 years
including: DnD v2 & 3.5, Vampire, Werewolf, Mage, Exalted, and a
little Legend of the Five Rings. I would love to join an Exalted
campaign, but I'm really up for anything. I'm not a power gamer. I'm
more interested in seeing the story unfold than the actual mechanics
of the game.
