Capital Area Flex User Group Meeting Wednesday May 4th

The next Capital Area Flex User Group meeting is Wednesday, May 4th
starting at 6:00 pm.

Huyen Tue Dao will be presenting:
Text Layout Framework (TLF)
This session will cover the Text Layout Framework (TLF), Adobe's
library for advanced typography and layout in Flash and Flex. We will
discuss the basic structure of the TLF and the underlying Flash Text
Engine (FTE) as well as how to utilize TLF in Flex applications, apply
advanced formatting and layout, add user interaction, and extend the
TLF to add custom functionality. We will also look at several demos
including a TLF text editor and integration of Flex components with
TLF-rendered text.

The June 1st meeting will be the Flash Builder 4.5 user group tour
which will presented by Adam Lehman who is the new product manager for
the Flash Builder. Depending on the level of interested we are
considering moving the meeting to a larger location. If you are
planning on attending please send me an email so I can get some idea
of the attendance level. If there’s a change in location we’ll
announce it at least a week before the meeting.

The meeting starts at 6:00 and presentations will begin promptly at
6:30pm.
