The next Capital Area Flex User Group meeting is Wednesday, September
1st starting at 6:00 pm. We will be meeting at the About Web office
in Rockville.
Andrew Trice will be presenting:
Developing Flex Applications For Touch-Based Devices
In this presentation we will cover the basics of interaction with
touch devices; from desktop to mobile. Expect a dive into the API, UI
considerations, and user interactions for adding a physical or
collaborative dimension to your applications.
Flex 360
Flex 360 is coming to DC September 19-22. If you haven’t registered
yet you can use the code “communitymatters” to get 15% off your
registration. I will also be raffling off 2 free tickets at this
week’s meeting.
Capital Area ColdFusion User Group
There is a new ColdFusion user group being formed. The first meeting
will be a social event at Timpano’s Italian Chophouse & Bar on the
September 14. For more information check out the site at:
http://www.dc-coldfusion.com/. Although it’s a ColdFusion group there
are many people that work in both ColdFusion and Flex, so there will
be Flex people at the social event. I also think it’s good to get
together in a more social setting once in a while, so we may plan
joint social events in the future as well.
If you can't make it to the meeting you can still participate online
through Adobe Connect at the following URL:

The meeting starts at 6:00 and presentations will begin promptly at
6:30pm. For directions and more information visit
