Fundamentals of Bouldering 4/22/2013 from 6:30 to 8:30

Hello All,

 

I registered to a class - Fundamentals of Bouldering at Columbia for April 22nd (Monday) from 6:30 to 8:30pm.  they got me an interpreter for the class.  They have few openings right now but the system is down. You can check back later if you're interested (or contact them).

 

The class is $20 for non-members and free for members. Remember... they already got me an interpreter.. so.. think about it! :)

Information on the class--
The bouldering cave can be a little intimidating, so let a seasoned boulderer show you how fun and rewarding bouldering can be.  Learn critical movement skills necessary for the overhanging terrain common in the bouldering cave, spotting and other safety skills, and bouldering etiquette.   If you are bouldering in the V1-V3 range or your climbing experience is limited to roped climbing thus far, this is the perfect class to jump start your bouldering performance!

Has anyone taken the Top Rope Systems I course?

I'd like to take this course before setting up outdoors. The course is 8 hours long though, from 8:30a - 4:30p. Do you know if ET will provide an interpreter for that long?

well, they got me an interpreter for the bouldering class...  maybe you can talk w/ them (email customer service) and explain to them that you would need an interpreter for an all day course... be sure to point out that interpreters need to have a team since it'll be an ALL day course (unless the interpreter doesn't mind).  maybe you can try to talk with all of us and see who's interested... and have THAT number of people provided to ET and see if they feel convinced that they should spend $ on interpreters for that certain # of deaf people who are interested in the class...  so far, sounds like you have TWO (me!!!) that is interested.  maybe you can see which days work for those who's interested and vote from there.. then inform ET? what you think?

Paulus, that seems like a good idea. I have two questions before we all pay you. 1. Would your class cover the same material as ET's? .. do you know what ET covers in that 8 hour class?    2. Can you provide the equipment (I think Elizabeth also asked that).
