Hello everyone,
It's been a while since I have been up to Rockville to climb with some of you, I hope to do that soon. As some of you know my wife and I are RID certified interpreters for more than 15 years each, we will be teaming to Interpret the class. I have fallen in love with indoor Rock climbing but am ready to venture outdoors to enjoy the nice weather. For a couple of months now I have been working with Earth Trek to set up an interpreted Top Rope climbing class, and just this week we got the green light. Please respond to this email if you are interested as well as a 3 proposed dates that works well for everyone. Keep in mind that it is an 8hr course with a lot of hands on training into anchoring up top as well as down below, knots etc. there is one hour of climbing in the end. Class sizes max out at 12 with a minimum of 6. As you know the more Deaf/HH, signing climbers the better so that the instructor tailors the class more to our learning style (allowing for us to have sidebar conversations to clarify anything with each other before moving on with the class) feel free to spread the word on forums Facebook, tweet about it, whatever. I will see about spreading the word to the Gallaudet community, but before I do I will give you guys first dibs (I will wait two weeks) I look forward to seeing you all soon.
Climb On!
