Dear Naturalists of the DMV -
Congratulations on an amazing City Nature Challenge! Thank you for organizing, gathering together and observing our region’s biodiversity.
The official numbers are in! (Note that the global team noted our official numbers as of 9am on May 6. They may have shifted on the iNaturalist project page since then.)
In comparison to 2023, we made 6,300+ more observations of 300+ more species, by 300+ more observers. Our Identifiers were equally strong in numbers this year at 1,000+.
Here is the PDF of the Global CNC results and highlights. What an amazing turnout across the world!
In traditional fashion, we will gather on Zoom for a CNC Celebration - DMV Edition, to share our favorite finds and photos. We’d love to hear your CNC stories. Please join us on Thursday, May 16th from 7-8 pm.

Help us gather stories and photos for show and tell in advance by submitting this form by May 14th.
We look forward to celebrating our CNC success with you!
