What’s eating my garden? And, perhaps more importantly, supporting the ecosystem by feeding bigger bugs and birds?
Please join us on Tuesday, August 13 to learn about aphids of the DC Metropolitan area! Natalie Hernandez, the top identifier of DC area aphids, will share secrets about their life stages, their tiny little body parts, characteristics to capture in your observations and--even though aphids are hard--local species that can be credibly identified through photos. Time permitting after the presentation, we’ll try our hands at some ID’s. We’ll also have a virtual Welcome Room where newcomers to iNat can get their questions answered and see some demos of iNaturalist tips and tricks.
Tune in from 7-8:30pm! Join at this Zoom link: https://tnc.zoom.us/j/92735142185 As always, the session will be recorded for those who can’t make it tomorrow night.
See upcoming topics and register for future sessions.
See this resource for recordings of past sessions.

I’m looking forward to learning about aphids with Natalie and YOU!

Hi Everyone,
If you missed last week’s presentation by the amazing Natalie Hernandez about aphids, here are the notes, with a link to the recording of the presentation right at the top.
Although many of the top aphids in the DC metro area are gallformers, this preso focused on free-living aphids. For more on gallforming organisms, see our February 2023 program and visit http://gallformers.org/ .
Thank you for Zooming in from El Paso, Natalie!
Next up for September: Fungi with our very own Serenella Linares, just in time for the most fungal time of the year! We hope to see you on Tuesday, September 10—registration link below.
