We got the party started! If you missed our City Nature Challenge kickoff call, see these notes –with a link to the recording of the call right at the top. Tons of resources in these notes.
Our next call is Friday, April 11, 2-3pm. Until then, if you want to access the hive mind of the iNat community in this area, send a note to this list. If you need any one-on-one help, reply to me and I’ll get you connected with someone who can help.

Subject: Spring is coming….Show your love for nature during the City Nature Challenge!
Hello Nature Friends!
This year’s City Nature Challenge will take place Friday April 25 through Monday April 28. For those unfamiliar, CNC is a friendly and inspiring global bioblitz using iNaturalist to document plants, animals, fungi etc … any wild living thing we find in our
parks, neighborhoods, homes or favorite natural area.
All this information adds up to a beautiful, dynamic and scientifically valuable picture of biodiversity in our world AND the myriad ways people connect with it. Our local friends in the DC metropolitan area have participated enthusiastically since 2017! Click around the project below to see how we have gotten better and better over the years!

Over this time our community has developed wonderful resources to support City Nature Challenge participants, walk leaders, organizers, and promoters. We’re having a kickoff call on Friday, February 14 at 3pm to get ourselves started and share how to access these resources. We invite you to join us on Zoom at https://tnc.zoom.us/j/92735142185 . For 2025, I have a special challenge for participants, which I’ll describe on the call.
We will record the session and share the recording link for those unable to join us.
We hope to see you on Friday! Meanwhile, please see our regional website
