DC Forecasting & Prediction Markets meetup: Oct 29, 6pm The October DC Forecasting & Prediction Markets meetup will take place this coming Tuesday, Oct 29th at 6pm at Fire Works Pizza right off the Court House metro station (blue/orange line).

Join us for a pre-election party to celebrate the forecasting “Super Bowl”!

We’ll be providing a free buffet of pizza, salad, and dessert as well as beer, wine, and soft drinks until 8pm.

Election Watch Party: Nov 5, 7pm
Come...um...well celebrate seems like a strong word...Come watch the 2024 election cycle come to a close. See democracy in action!  There will be food, drink, wagering, and no doubt interminable wrangling over whatever thing inevitably goes wrong.

The address is 1002 N Street NW, follow the sign for "Free Utility". It's 2 blocks from Mt. Vernon square metro and 6 blocks from Metro Center. There is street parking, the 24/7 gas station at 1317 9th Street will cheaply sell you a spot, and the garage is available to whomever asks for it first. ACX Meetup / Nerd Party: Nov 16, 7pm
This month's meetup will be Saturday, 11/16 at 7:00pm. If the weather is nice we may end up outside on the patio with a fire. All friends, plus ones, and interesting acquaintances are welcome!
We're encouraging potlucking, so please bring your best dish and drinks, several others will be as well. The kitchen counter book exchange continues to be popular so please keep bringing books you'd like to share. And if anyone wants to organize other activities, please let us know.
