Hi all,

I'm subscribed to both the Django Bristol+Bath User Group
(http://groups.google.com/group/dbug) and the Bristol Ruby User Group
(http://groups.google.com/group/bristol-ruby) and both groups seem to
have trouble sorting out dates and venues for our meetups so I was
wondering about combining our forces and seeing what emerges. I've
tentatively suggested this to Pete Ferne and Dan Hilton who both seem
to think it's not a terrible idea.

There's obviously potential for "intro to..." on both sides as well as
more general topics applicable to both like best libraries for x,
trends in the languages, code testing, editors, process, deployment,
continuous integration, templating, visualisation, cool new stuff etc.
etc.

I suggest that the next meetup is next Thursday, the 21st May (open to
offers but with more people attending a few not being able to make it
is hopefully less critical).

Ideally we'd get somewhere we can give presentations (seeing as both
groups were planning on it anyway!), like the Watershed or the
Pervasive Media labs, but we have to pay to get these unless a member
of staff turns up, so that's up for debate. I understand a good few
people work in the centre so other venues are possible.

Feel free to reply with your feedback, even if it's just to say this
is a terrible idea, or you can't make it on that date or you know the
perfect place!

Cheers,

+1 from me - though I was on holiday over the suggested date!
(Apologies Simon for the late moderation of your first message, too).
Some time w/c 15/6 is good for me.

Cheers,
Dan
