to DBS for Depression

My husband was done in 2005>
Over the summer family stress and unknown to us the stimulator lost
power.
They are trying different setting, he is more awake but refuses to do
anything but figures with numbers.Like OCD numbers. Can't seem to sort
him out. He was consisdered a sucess, but this life is no sucess.

Marilyn,

Thankfully they are still working with your husband. I was told that the batteries only last about 4 years. My device has been off since October. Just way too many emotional side effects. I have returned to my "pre-surgical" level of depression and have actually begun to feel a little better as of late. I guess just having the thing sitting there is better than having it on. Despite the loss of my job and home and having to go on disability, I too was considered a success. Absurd but true, since we are only numbers and are tracked using numbers and not how our lives ultimately turn out.
