ProfileNo Boss cranks are exactly the same as Profile Race Cranks, with the sole exception that they lack a boss to bolt a sprocket onto them. They require you to run a Spline Drive Sprocket or Spider. They can be used for left or right hand drive.

No sprocket boss version of profile's race cranks for use with spline drive sprockets. Profile have been the premiere brand for 3-piece cranks for the last 15 years or more. These cranks are made in the USA. The arms are made from 4130 chromoly and the spindle is a heat treated gun drilled hollow 4130, 48spine spindle

This low alloy steel contains high amounts of chromium and is often referred to as chromoly. 4130 steel has good machinability, ductility, weldability and strength characteristics. It is used for many different industries including the automotive, aerospace and machining industries.

This nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy streel is a very high strength steel. It is sought after for its toughness and for being used as a steel that will be highly stressed. It is used in a variety of industries for different applications including the automotive, aerospace, and tooling industries.

Surprisingly the cromo Elite crank arms with the titanium Elite axle weigh in at 995 grams, set up with the Elite bottom bracket and spider. They are a serious contender in the weight race. This compares to the 1095 grams of the Profile Column cranks with cromo axle and same bottom bracket and spider. And they are the same weight as the 19mm no boss Profile Race cranks equivalent set up with a titanium spindle. For comparison the alloy Shimano DXR cranks weigh in at 969.6 grams.

This is a replacement crank arm for a Profile Racing 3-piece chromoly race crankset - as long as you have a race style 19mm 48 splined axle you can change sizes or replace old arms - Single right side no boss cranks also available here. Profile is only producing the most common crank sizes at this time.

I have never broke any 3 pc cranks. Ive owned Redline old and new, Profile 19mm race, Indents and of course the Ti RNCs. I have twisted many 1 pc before having the money to switch to 3pc. So which ones have you bent or broke? Aluminum,Chromo, Ti ? What failed and what were ya doin' ?

I stripped the splines on profiles riding flatland... I have always preferred one piece and have bent and twisted many ..usually when I bail or the bike drops...Some of the worst were SR,tioga,gt and odyssey excalibur...the old sugino and takagi could take massive abuse.... ashtabula too but they were real heavy...

I twisted the spindle on my 78 Team Mongoose DuraAce. I switched to a Bullseye BB after that and it was fine, but I could feel and see the cranks flexing under hard pedaling and went 1 piece CrMo after that.

snapped hollow Promax (?) OPC's back in like 84' coming out of the gate..cracked and snapped some Redline Flight's when I worked there and they changed vendors back in like 95' and went to the floating/bushing spindle design and didn't have the pedal boss on the arms fully wrapped. Shoot even their top dog John Purse wouldn't run em until we fixed em (he ran Profiles for a time while being sponsored by Redline lol)..Also snapped a set of V1 Flybikes (also non wrapped pedal bosses) cranks back around 2010 nearly dyeing off a big set and having the sharp crank end slice my leg. Got lucky on that one lol..

Every one piece. I've broken Supercross, Profile, the old alloy GT cranks, the original Wombolts due to a design flaw. Just my regular riding broke those. The GT cranks took 8 years but I broke them eventually.

Similar to Scott's story but maybe not as bad, I snapped a one piece crank and the remaining piece sliced my leg pretty deep. I remember standing in a phone both (remember those) trying to call someone to get a ride to the doctor and blood was filling my sock and running out the vent holes in my Converse.

I later cracked a first gen Flight. Chuck asked me to send it in for replacement but it was 185 and they had switched to the new model so I guess they didn't have anything to replace it with. Redline still owes me a crank arm.

I twisted a Redline dimple spline(1982-ish)on one side. Now the cranks do not look parallel to each other. It is off a bit but doesn't really effect riding. You can see a bit in the picture of the left side crank arm

i cracked the right arm on a pair of 80s sugino race cranks riding street in the 90s. right in the spindle area. not all that unexpected, i only ran them because they were $30 and i was tired if replacing 1pc cranks every week or so.

I rode the ramps back in the day, snapped a pair Hutch aero speed cranks on the drive side during a hard landing. Also purchased a Hutch western H freestyle stem, it damn near killed me. The stem broke during a landing, straight across where the barrel adjusters were drilled out. Never purchased another Hutch product, but I can tell you their warranty dept. was second to none. Replaced the cranks, which I traded to a neighbor for his Redline flight cranks that I still own today. Replaced the stem too, which I traded to the same neighbor for his Redline brute stem and still own today.
