If you have purchased Business! and the MICR font and want to print
your own checks on plain paper, you will need to print the checks
using magnetic (MICR) toner. The magnetic toner is a special type of
toner that gives banks and other financial institutions the ability to
correctly read the MICR information on your check. The MICR line is
located on the very bottom of your check. If you do not use the
magnetic toner, the bank will probably clear the check, but will not
be able to read the check number unless the MICR toner is used. If you
print a large amount of checks, this can make the check reconciliation
process very tedious.
You can find vendors of MICR toner by using a Google search to locate
vendors in your area.
