Rapper Nino Brown is known for being part of the Junior M.A.F.I.A., one of the most famous and lauded rap collectives in history. He is referenced in rap history, and today is known largely as a motivational speaker who lectures on strategies for success in urban settings. His feuds with rappers DJ Khaled, among others, have also given him a reputation as a combative personality.
The story involves the career of Nino (Wesley Snipes), a smart man with a certain genius for organization, as he ruthlessly takes over a Harlem apartment building and makes it the distribution headquarters for his cocaine business. He picks his lieutenants carefully, goes to elaborate lengths to enforce security, makes a lot of money, and seems invulnerable. He also surrounds himself with opulence and beauty. As played by Snipes, he has the threatening charisma of a great screen villain.
Wesley Snipes starred as drug dealer and crime lord Nino Brown in the 1991 film New Jack City. The movie told the story of Nino's gang, the CMB, or the Cash Money Brothers, who make a fortune dealing crack cocaine in 1980s New York City. They even take over an entire apartment complex and dub it "the Carter." But one detective, played by Ice-T, is intent on busting Nino and bringing down the CMB. Nino is eventually brought to justice, but not before delivering one heck of a "don't-blame-this-drug-epidemic-on-me" speech. This is Snipes in his prime.
"I think some things should be left alone ... if it worked at the time under the circumstances. And the story was built around things that are current. I don't particularly like the idea of recreating the drug culture. For what?"
Typically, residents of this region are almost guaranteed a white Christmas, and most should see a white Christmas again this year. However, there is a risk that a relatively mild and dry pattern in the weeks leading up to Christmas will result in a rare 'brown' Christmas for parts of the region.
