The position of the U.S. President is for the person who wants to be
the president. There is nothing wrong for a citizen to pursue the
President position.
>> 它是为 "国家的治理" 而存在的。
True, it is for managing the country. But there must be one man or
woman that does the job.
>> 为什么要把 "当总统" 看为是 "胜利" "高兴" "要强" "受尊重和
>> 敬畏" "种族平等" "地位" 等观点来看?
Becoming the U.S. President, especially running against another
candidate, is a victory. So as a Chinese American, another minority, I
am very happy. If you are not happy, it's ok because that's your
choice. Obama's victory reflects in some degree the enhancement of
minority in the U.S. society.
>> 美国自今就是Obama的吗? 就是黑人的吗?
Nobody said that the U.S. belongs to Obama from now on, or African
Americans. The U.S. belongs to every U.S. citizen and we are all part
of the U.S.
>>孩子不是牛马,可以数目论。每一个孩子都是一个人。没有什么应该一个还是十个。
No one said children are animals. Every child, like every adult, is a
great human being. To give children best environment, to raise them to
be contributing citizens, is every parent's responsibility. In the US
where neighbors live far from each other, a big family with 3-5 kids
is the best environment for kids to grow up in a group environment, to
learn to share with each other, to organize and to take leadership.
One child is lonely and tend to lack social skills necessary in
today's world.
Anecdotal evidences are hardly indicative. For every Condolizza Rice
(only child), there are many more Gary Lock (5 siblings) and George W
Bush (5 siblings).
