In your Autodesk Account, find your product and click View Details. Next click License Details to access your serial number. If your product does not have a serial number, View Details does not display. Your Serial Number is the same for all versions of a standalone or multi-user subscription product.
If you bought your product as part of a suite (for example, Autodesk Factory Design Suite), the same product key is used to activate all products in the suite. Use the tool to look up the name of the suite.
Through a long comedy of errors, I have a (mostly) new system, twice. Part of the comedy is that I had to rebuild my system from scratch on a new hard drive (within the last month). I activated AutoCAD and there was no issues. The second part of the comedy was that the new drive was also failing so they had to give me another. Now again, rebuilding from scratch. Back to the reinstallation of AutoCAD and it's not activating. I input my Serial Number and get a green check mark but add the Product Key and get a red X. I`ve gone through the FAQ`s. One answer is to manually activate to get a Request Code. But guess what, I need to input my serial number and product key to get it. FAIL. I also tried to Submit a Case but guess what, I need a request code to do that. Following the round about?
Hi, am wondering if someone can help. One of my colleagues bought a new, supposedly unregistered copy of AutoCAD 2010 from ebay in October. When he came to install in December there was no product key. The seller claims it has been lost/damaged in the post, and was going to follow it up with the postal service. My colleague has since left the company and it has fallen to me to resolve the issue. The seller is not answering emails anymore, it is too late to file a Paypal dispute and AutoCAD say there is nothing they can do. Can anyone think of anything else I can try please as we have paid 800 for this.
Sorry but your friend is out of luck Never buy used copies of AutoCAD, it is against their EULA. I know that is a hard pill to swallow. Other than use a crack which I am not in favor of you are pretty much stuck.
Your only chance of recovering the money for you company is to go after the seller and/or your colleague for re-reimbursement. In principal, I think you should go after the seller, as I have little doubt that it was his intention to commit fraud. From a practical/financial standpoint, I think you'd probably end up loosing more trying to get your money back than the initial loss.
As stated by nestly, go after the seller. I have not used eBay and/or PayPal for some time, but I am pretty sure you can have there accounts canceled if you can prove fraud and if they still have money in PayPal you may still get it frozen and/or reimbursed.
These guys are basically fly-by-night scam artists. The chances that the guy is still hanging around eBay (using the same name/identity) is slim and none. Given the fact the purchase was made in October of 2011 and it is now March of 2012 only makes matters worse. Had this been pursued back in October maybe the OP would have had a better chance. I'm betting this guy is long gone. Unfortunate.
They frequently post their personal serial numbers on the student website not realizing that there are scam artists out there trolling for these numbers which they then sell. As each number can only be activated twice - once the activations have been used up they have to wait for a new one to be posted.
Some of these scammers have very impressive ligitimate-looking websites that reference a court case of a couple of years ago that ruled the media (disk, box, whatever was in the box) can legally be sold on ebay. But what they fail to disclose is the case said nothing about registration/activation of the software license.
"On October 1, 2010, Vernor filed a petition for the case to be reheard en banc. Autodesk filed its reply on November 10, 2010. The Ninth Circuit denied the request on January 18, 2011.[15] The Supreme Court denied Vernor's petition for certiorari in October 2011"
The sad thing is that you could have gotten a legitimate copy of Bricscad for less money and it's almost as good a product as Autocad. The current version is roughly equivalent to Acad 2008 in features and their support team is great.
If you used Paypal for your payment you can maybe get your money back, but unlikely now. I think you have to lodge it withing 30 days. you friend can now get a full cad package from free at www.nanocad.com. Registration is required, but the software is free.
So I thought I'd test it: I obtained new 2017 licenses and updated the license file and removed the old 2016 licenses. Stopped the service, configured for the new license file and started the service.
Starting about 9:30 AM, local time on Thursday March 17th, 2016, we received reports from a half dozen sites that reported experiencing a disruption in Vault connectivity when the Vault client was logging into the server. All operations had been normal before that.
Notice: we bypass the screen that prompts for the serial number, product key and if it's a standalone or network version. This is a new feature in AutoCAD. When you run the program it should prompt you.
If you un-check the box "Include only products..." then the deployment will include all programs included in the software. This is helpful when creating a deployment from a suite and you want multiple configurations. If you leave it checked, then deselect one of the programs at the end (like Recap) then if you modify the deployment it will no longer show Recap as a product you can install.
Starting with AutoCAD 2016-based products on Windows, it is recommended to digitally sign your custom program files. By digitally signing a custom program file, you inform the user as to who published the custom program file and if any changes were made to the file after it was digitally signed. For information on digitally signing custom program files, see the "About Digitally Signing Custom Program Files" topic.
Each custom program file loaded is check for the existence of a digital signature. If a digital signature is found attached to a custom program file, the user is presented with information about the digital certificate and publisher that signed the file. The user can choose to continue to load the file, and optionally trust all files by the publisher of the file being loaded. If no or an invalid digital signature is found, the user is informed that the program file might not be safe to load and execute.
The ProgramData (per machine) or AppData (per users) folders, where Exchange store installers used to install Apps are no longer considered secure locations by AutoCAD 2016. In AutoCAD 2016, when the App gets loaded from these locations a warning message as displayed. You can avoid this warning message by digitally signing your modules. You can use SignTool.exe (for windows, located with Microsoft SDK toolkit) to digitally sign your C++ and .NET modules.
Example : signtool sign /f /p FileToSign.dll
Similarly, you can use AcSignApply.exe (found in the AutoCAD installation folder) to sign the Lisp files. For more details on digitally signing please refer -us/library/ie/ms537361(v=vs.85).aspx
In AutoCAD 2016 Autodesk added the ability to digitally sign lisp files (.lsp, .fas and .vlx). They have the GUI version, AcSignApply.exe (which gets installed in the AutoCAD install folder) to sign the lisp files.
This readme contains the latest information for Autodesk AutoCAD 2016 and Autodesk AutoCAD LT 2016. For reference, save or print this document.
It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you install this product.
The first version by Autodesk was demonstrated at the 1982 Comdex and released that December. AutoCAD supported CP/M-80 computers.[10] As Autodesk's flagship product, by March 1986 AutoCAD had become the most ubiquitous CAD program worldwide.[11] The 2022 release marked the 36th major release of AutoCAD for Windows and the 12th consecutive year of AutoCAD for Mac. The native file format of AutoCAD is .dwg. This and, to a lesser extent, its interchange file format DXF, have become de facto, if proprietary, standards for CAD data interoperability, particularly for 2D drawing exchange.[12] AutoCAD has included support for .dwf, a format developed and promoted by Autodesk, for publishing CAD data.
AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT are available for English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Czech, Polish and Hungarian (also through additional language packs).[16] The extent of localization varies from full translation of the product to documentation only. The AutoCAD command set is localized as a part of the software localization.
For example, AutoCAD Architecture (formerly Architectural Desktop) permits architectural designers to draw 3D objects, such as walls, doors, and windows, with more intelligent data associated with them rather than simple objects, such as lines and circles. The data can be programmed to represent specific architectural products sold in the construction industry, or extracted into a data file for pricing, materials estimation, and other values related to the objects represented.
AutoCAD Release 12 in 1992 was the first version of the software to support the Windows platform - in that case Windows 3.1. After Release 14 in 1997, support for MS-DOS, Unix and Macintosh were dropped, and AutoCAD was exclusively Windows supported. In general any new AutoCAD version supports the current Windows version and some older ones. AutoCAD 2016 to 2020 support Windows 7 up to Windows 10.[29]
Autodesk Inventor 2016 includes a new technology called AnyCAD that allows users to selectively and associatively work with dozens of non-native CAD data types from all major vendors for more efficient multi-CAD workflows, both internally and with suppliers. For example, an engineer can import a mechanical component from another CAD system into a larger assembly in Inventor, where it can be analyzed for fit and performance. The file is not "translated" into Inventor. The imported component can be modified in its original CAD system and updates are automatically reflected in Inventor.
