Hey Everyone,

Been a long time away from the hobby. 

Chip Willis here, looking towards next season. Long story short but been out of the flying loop, hoping to get a cataract fixed this fall, and back to flying sailplanes next season. 

Basically starting from scratch again. 

So what I am asking is what are the state of things. Looking at club memberships, Columbus, Dayton etc. 

Flying fields these days? Probably will be able to hang out a few times this summer and get reacquainted with everything.

Looking to get back into DLG and TD unless it is gone in favor of f5j or ales.

Hello Chip,

Gavin is still master of all things dlg. 

Beyond dlg’s the trend is now more towards F5J. Contests are seeing greatest turnouts of participants for these events. There is F5J tour event in Knoxville this weekend. Columbus/Dayton and Cincy have been having F5J lite and ALES events. Likely all will be full blown F5J in the future.

NATS signups closes at the end of this month. Check out rcgroups for the July dates for the various events. Dayton OVSS contest July 9th and 10th. Mixed launch…..string or electric.
