Dear Friends and Colleagues:
This is it. The moment we've been fighting for is arriving in just 6 days. Your community needs you: are you ready?
Starting October 1 for 182 days, millions of people will be able to sign up for health insurance through the new health insurance marketplaces created by the Affordable Care Act by visiting HealthCare.gov. But people are being misled by TV ads telling them to stay away (1). Young people are stumbling upon YouTube videos that show Uncle Sam doing pelvic exams on women getting insured through the marketplace (2).
Our patients and our communities need us to lead the way. That's why Doctors for America and partner organizations are organizing 10 webinars throughout the day on 10/1. We're training doctors, medical students, and other health care providers on the basics so you can be a Coverage Champion for your community.
Join us on this historic day!

What's the best way for health care providers to spread the word?
Watch with clinic staff before the day starts, do an in-service with hospital staff, do a noon conference, send to a listserv, share on Facebook, spread the word!
We’ll provide you with downloadable materials: a flier, a voicemail script, a script for answering questions, and more.
Today, 1 in 7 Americans has no health insurance. 26,000 die every year because they are afraid to get health care due to costs and end up coming to us too late. Be a Coverage Champion, and together we can change the face of health care in America.
Alice
P.S. The more people we reach, the more lives we save. Please share this with as many people as you can!
