Well, I brought my two eldest 'keets, and we had a blast! I HURT, but
it feels good to feel such pain for such a good cause. We weeded
weeds the size of Brazilian anacondas and planted 32 trees at a local
park, which happens to be walking distance from my place (we three
didn't plant the 32, but our one lone whatever-it-is isn't really
alone at all). Fire truck, tractor, Smokey The Bear, Paul Bunion, and
some very tasty hot dogs were but a few of the attractions of the
day. The park's name is Pondview, and I caught the biggest fish of
the day! It was at THIS "..." big, a GINORMOUS catfish, which was
pretty easy to catch since it was a floater. Yeah. Dead a while.
And stinky. We buried it with our tree, which should provide enough
fertilizer to make out tree the biggest! We Parrotheads were joined
by G.E., a local Girl Scout troop (PHUN kids!), and other locals.
Administrators from the Parks-and-whatever commission joined the Mayor
to dedicate a beautiful Blue Spruce that, along with our other berry-
bearing trees (no, I really don't know what we planted!) will provide
great stories for generations to come as we watch them, and our 'keets
who helped plant them, grow to maturity. A great day, phellow
phlockers! I'm proud to be among you.
