DBA Board and Other Volunteer Positions Open

The DBA is still looking for motivated individuals to volunteer for Board and non-Board positions.  Candidates should demonstrate a passion for broomball and be willing to commit to the efforts required to run and improve the league.  If you are interested in any of the open positions, please send an e-mail to in...@daytonbroomball.org or speak with DBA President Jeff Downs in person. 

 

VP of Asset Management (OPEN)

The VP of Asset Management is responsible for the upkeep of DBA and South Metro equipment including but not limited to helmets, sticks, balls, goals and nets.  Specific duties include obtaining new equipment, repairing broken equipment, establishing relationships with equipment vendors, and coordinating group equipment purchase opportunities for DBA members throughout the year.

 

Head Referee (OPEN)

·         Recruit and train new referees

·         Evaluate referees to ensure they are doing the best job possible

·         Schedule referees for games

·         Work with president on player/team disciplinary action

·         Recommend rule changes to the board

·         Coordinate payment of referees with treasurer at the end of each season

 

SNOWBALL LEAGUE REMINDER

There are still spots open, so get your online registration and money in ASAP if you want to play this winter.  The deadline is January 12.

 

For the snowball league, everyone signs up individually.  This is a great opportunity to get to know more players in the league and work on new skills.  We are limited to 6 teams, so the first 60 players and 6 goalies to sign up will get placed on a team.  Each Snowball Team will be picked by captains/goalies, however, you can still request one teammate if you wish. 

 

Games will be held on Tuesday nights at 9:30 & 10:15 PM.  Each team will play 4 games.  Game dates are Jan 19, Jan 26, Feb 2, Feb 9, Feb 16, & Feb 23.  The cost to play is $30 per player.
