MetalSlug 4 "Attack of the Syndicate" is a remastered version of the original Metal Slug 4 published by SNK Playmore in 2001. This remastered version includes an original copy of the game, but also has a brand new reimagining of the game, featuring multiple story based elements and brand new stages that show how General Morden and the Amadeus Syndicate teamed up to invade the world !

It has been several years since Metal Slug 6. The Martian leaders called General Morden and complained about his incompetence of their alliance, and immediately broke their allegiance to the army. They took off in their Dai-Manjis and Neo-Bordan Spacecrafts into space, leaving the Earth free of aliens for the meanwhile. Enraged, Morden summons Abigail, and talks to her in private.

Deep in the Rebel Army's Labs, an officer called Abigail has been dispatched with a Rebel peacekeeping force into foreign territory. They have been sent to make an arms deal with the Amadeus Syndicate, a brand new terrorist organisation that seized multiple weapons from the Regular Army and modified them with cyborg and AI-enhancement programs. Lead by the Doctor, they have expressed interest in the Rebel Army by supplying them with powerful weaponry in exchange for funding of their lab experiments.

friendship. Abigail sent a large number of armory, weapons and troops to reinforce his secret lair. Along with some mutant crabs and slugs to further the Doctor's mad research. In response, the Doctor introduced cyborg enhacements and several new war machines for the Rebel Army.

Later that week, General Morden joined by Abigail and Allen O Neil, along with several high ranking bodyguards entered Amadeus's secret laboratory. Standing proudly was the doctor, smoking a vintage cigarette and saluting the commanders. He showed them several fine pieces of equipment, including the new Cyber-Polymer cyborgs, which looked and acted like a human, but were endowed with supernatural robotic skills. With these cyborgs, Morden's army could demolish the Regular Army once and for all.

Weeks pass, and the Regular Army has been entasked by several commanders on the recent surge of crypto-based terrorism and attacks on top military districts in the area. Eri Kasamoto catches sight of a familiar face on the intercoms, finding none other than General Morden looking at new equipment. Almost if he knows that someone is looking at him, he turns his head around and gives a threatening smile at the camera, before it fades away.

Taken by surprise, the Peregrinne Squad reforms to tackle the Rebel-Amadeus alliance. However, it turns out that it won't just be humans in the fight, but genetically engineered super soldiers and more terrifying mutants !

The Peregrinne Squad's first mission was to travel to New York City, where had undergone a massive attack by a large airbourne blimp deploying canisters of infectious liquid into the city, causing the city to be paralyzed by mutant abominations. Using mind-controlling remotes, the Amadeus troops had established a colony within the city, subjugating the populace to forced labour.

Marco lead a group of boats to land on the beach, coming under heavy artillery fire from the enemy forces. Mutant grasshoppers and Molluscs mutated by the infectious bombs also attacked our heroes. After clearing the forces of the beachside, the Peregrinne Squad saw the extent of the chaos.

Marco, Fio and Nadia took to the motorway, clearing mutants and Amadeus pickup trucks. They made their way across the burning city, taking out tank after tank and mutant after mutant, before finally reaching the aerodrome, where the Brave Guerrier was deploying mutants and troops.

Eri and Tarma meanwhile came across a large river under a bridge, guarded by several advanced tanks not seen by the Regular Army ever. They launched a stealth attack, and realized that there was something lurking in the water. Putting on their scuba suits, they jumped into the pond and swam down, taking out the Mutants and Amadeus submarines guarding the area. They came across a huge fish, called the One Who Lurks Beneath and fought a brief battle with it. It finally sneezed and pushed Eri and Tarma out of the pond and onto the aerodrome.

skyscraper and travelled up the elevator to the top floor. After taking out the guards, he managed to install a satelite monitor on top. It was there where he received a secret message by a woman, claiming that she would like to see him one day.

After the battle with the Brave Guerrier, Marco apprehended an officer who had survived the explosion, but it turned out to be a robot ! It tried throwing it's explosive head at Marco, but it missed. Amongst the burning corpse was a keycard, which revealed crucial information about their next mission. It was none other than the Rebel Capital, Mordenia where a new superweapon from the Amadeus Syndicate was being built. They had to destroy whatever contraption they were making before it was too late.

Welcome to Mordenia, the capital of the Rebel Army. This was where New Brunswick was located, and Morden developed his own supercity guarded by powerful troops. With the Doctor's help, several powerful Rebel vehicles were introduced into the city, to guard Morden's homeplace. Sabotaging his birthplace would be a big blow to Morden's reputation, so he makes sure to guard it with some of the best troops.

After taking over the subway station, the Regular Army launches an offensive through the heart of the city in order to reach the hill-top manufactring base on top of the mountain where the Toschke Dalanue is being constructed. The Perigrinne Squad found some powerful new weapons, such as the K-O3 armored vehicle guarding the subway station. After escaping the city's defensive bombardment cannons, the Pergrinne Squad came to a fork in the path.

Half of the squad debarked deeper into the forest, chasing after commander Hugo. Halfway in the forest, Blaze Commander Loretta and Victor ambushed the player halfway by setting fire to the nearby logs and chased our heroes down the hill. After defeating the tank, Commander Hugo launched an airbourne assault on our heroes. After dodging the gunfires, Hugo attacked with a powerful Amadeus-Battle body, but it was destroyed and he escaped via an escape pod.

Meanwhile, Marco, Eri and Nadia climbed to the top of the mountain. After dispatching the troops, they found an aquarium with mutant creatures leaping out of test tubes. Afterwards, they entered the powerful Panzerwolfen Slug, demolishing enemy tanks on the windy mountain cliffs. Finally, they reached the test sight, but found that the superweapon was already gone. It was there where Allen O Neil laughed evily and told our heroes to "Eat, lead, Babies !", attacking with a multi-segmented war machine. Depending on what parts of the machine were destroyed, the battle would change. Finally, Allen attacked with his new Amadeus-Gatling Gun, firing huge volleys of supercooled bullets. Eventually, his machine was destroyed and he jumped onto a Rebel aircraft and flew away.

The Amadeus Syndicate has created a base of operations in the Nepalese Mountains. They are testing their powerful new Gorilla-Based Mutants, while releasing terrifying mutants into the frozen lake to attack curious Regular troops on the way. Not only that, but they are deploying Rebel-Aligned POW's to trick the Regular Army into rescuing them, before launching a trap onto them.

After taking the plane to Nepal, the Pergrinne forces land in a local Nepalese town, with children and adults talking amongst each other. However, the jovial mood falls apart when enemy troops leap out of snowmen to launch surprise attacks. After clearing the village, the Pergrinne Force splits into two. One climbs high up in the mountain into the snowy caverns, while the other path leads down to the frozen river by the village.

In the cave, Marco finds a cybertech war base, where they are attacked by Gorilla-Mutants and powerful cyborg bodyguards. As they enter the base, they find testing chambers and eventually seize control of a Gorilla-Mutant, destroying all the enemies and tanks in the way. Finally, they reach a bunch of logs on top of the mountain, demolishing all the defenses on the mountain before flying through a huge metal grate.

The terrifying animtronic Big John has landed in an amusement park, releasing two potent forms of toxins near their secret nuclear testing lab. There were sightings of horrendous Vampire and Demonic mutations.

The Perigrinne Squad lands in the amusement park, where Amadeus Troops and Rebel Soldiers run out of the park in fear and terror with their own mutants attacking them, despite their mind controlling machines. After dispatching and controlling the entrance, they enter a nuclear testing lab with bodies of dead corpses, and some undergoing horrific mutations. After breaching a metal grate, the paths split.

Going upwards leads to a Castlevania Type stage full of blood sucking vampires that fly around the screen and appear out of the shadows. Meanwhile, down the stairs leads to a flaming hell, full of demons and sentient machines. After defeating Dracula and the Queen Vampire, the heroes drop down into Big John's lair.

In hell, the Regular Army finds Demonic entities of their own selves ! They are vicious and give chase to our heroes ! The paths split again, where they either continue across the hellish landscape or enter a pool of blood, sinking all the way to a terrifying fight with the Devil. After beating the Devil, the demonic versions of Marco, Eri, Fio, Tarma, Nadia & Trevor give chase, almost like a Hydra monster ! At the end of the hellish landscape, a demonic version of Morden sits on a throne. It's all scary stuff, but Nadia relives this stress by taking marshmallows out of her backpack and giving them a roast for a snack.

Big John waits, embedded in a metal wall, attacking with toxic bubbles and mutating Rebel Soldiers trapped in it's mouth. After taking enough damage, it grows fangs and sprouts wings, chasing our heroes in the thundery skies ! Finally, it's body is struck by lightning and it burns into ash.
