The ongoing roadwork on Carlisle Road and Red Hawk Way is nearing its completion with only a few more days of work scheduled. Those driving to the campus should be aware of the following and plan accordingly:

Once all roadwork is complete on Tuesday, the new traffic patterns on Carlisle Road and Red Hawk Way will be fully available to all motorists. Those entering the campus by Carlisle Road will be able to travel north through the intersection of Carlisle Road and Red Hawk Way and continue on to the north end of campus as is currently possible. They will also have the new option of turning right on to Red Hawk Way to gain access to the Red Hawk Parking Deck.

The traffic patterns for those who enter the campus from College Avenue will not change. There will still be access to the Red Hawk Parking Deck and both left and right hand turns onto Carlisle Road will be possible. Although the north end of campus can still be accessed though the College Avenue entrance, those traveling west on Normal Avenue may find the new Carlisle Road entrance to be the most direct route and are encouraged to use that entrance.

This section of the website is designed to keep you updated on road projects and construction in the Borough of Carlisle. If a project is being conducted by an outside utility, such as UGI or PPL, you may need to reach out to them for more specific details. On the left, you will find information on ongoing projects.

The project will be located on Spangler Road (CR 335) from Restoration Park Drive to Main Street and on (Medway-New Carlisle Road) CR 303 from Main Street to US 40. The project includes adding lighting at intersections; adding turn lanes at major intersections where warranted; widening shoulders; relocating fixed objects; installing a mix of edgeline rumble strips, centerlines, and delineators; elevating CR 335 out of the 100-year flood zone; replacing a small structure just south of Main Street in Medway; realigning South Union Street and providing a northbound right turn lane; and regrading an earth dike at Restoration Park Drive.

Clark County received safety funding to improve two miles of Medway-New Carlisle Road in Bethel Township. The project will widen shoulders, install a northbound left turn lane at Schiller Road, resurface the roadway from Lower Valley Pike to U.S. 40, and upgrade pavement markings, signs, and lighting. Construction is anticipated in 2027.

Additional excavation has unfolded on the northern half of the site since our last update in December, when crews were still descending below street level. Recent photos show this section now populated with bundles of protruding rebar as concrete trucks work to pour the foundations. Excavation has yet to occur on the southern portion of the plot, where a piling machine and excavator sit among the base of the steel buttresses temporarily supporting the wall of the adjacent building.

The closest subways from the corner property include the 1 train at the Rector Street station to the south along Greenwich Street, the R and W trains at the Rector Street station at Trinity Place, and the 4 and 5 trains at the Wall Street station on Broadway.

I wish they spruce up and keep that old red brick building next door. It would show how moddest and quanet the placed used to look like. And it is only one single tiny building in the midst of all those giant new buildings
