Sunday of Advent, entitled "Repent, Ye Saints."

Using Luke 3:7-19 as his text, Wiley encourages us to take some time
during Advent to reflect spiritually on our lives and, if necessary,
turn in a new direction towards God.

After reading, "Repent, Ye Saints, by Wiley Stephens, I am reminded of the inspiration and pure delight of the old religious musical, "Cotton Patch Gospel", the movie starring Tom Key and the original award-winning cast, with musical score by Harry Chapin. I believe this musical is one of the most inspiring and refreshing religious movies I have ever seen. It would do us all a whole lot of good to see it from time to time, especially during the Season of Advent. I showed "Cotton Patch Gospel" one night at a local church and during intermission half of the congregation got up and walked out. The very next day a retired minister chewed me out good for bringing such trash into the church.
