Family celebratory party

¡Hola familia!

While I was on my two day bus trip across the Argentinian desert, I began thinking about all that is coming up with our wonderful family in the next few months and decided we need a fiesta!
Summertime is always hectic with everyone's schedules, vacation, changes, etc., however, with everything going on:

-high school graduations
--Jay
--Frankie
-college graduations
--Mollie
--Trey
-grad school graduation
--Evie
-other
--Becca: baby boy 2
--summer birthdays/anniversaries
---Harvie (60), Harding, Frank & Theresa, Harvie & Nellie,Jack & Becca, Kevin & Emily, (Frankie, Catherine?) any little ones have a summer birthday?

...Wouldn't it be nice to have a big party to celebrate all that is great in our family? And I may have missed something, so I apologize. I am not too up on current information at the moment (and bad at remembering birthdays!)
I have no date in mind, just sometime this summer- whatever is most convenient. I am willing to offer up my home (aka Harvie and Nellie's 😁) if you all would like and think this is feasible.
I have drafted a general menu below, make as many changes as you want (seriously, especially the honorees). It just seems like an easy summer menu in my mind (and perhaps it's everything I'm craving... Currently on a lovely diet of camping food, etc.)

Menu:
-humus
-falafels
-kibbe
-veggies
-chips
-corn dip
-ranch dip
-mini sandwiches (?) (chicken salad/Benedictine) (?)
-fruit salad
-good bread (homemade? Focaccia? Syrian?)
-corn/(grilled)cob/pudding
-beef/chicken/veggie kebabs
-quinoa and grilled veggies
-spinach strawberry salad
-tabbouleh
-fruit pizza
-pound cake
-ice cream
-s'mores
-beer
-wine
-bourbon
-sangria

-croquet/cornhole/lawn games?

Once again, I'm on a 28 hour bus ride and a bit bored, so no hurt feelings if no one agrees this idea will actually work.

It's March.... Sooo Happy Birthday to aunt Theresa, cousin Anne, jay, Luke, Matthew, Jack! (Sorry if I forgot one....) Hope everyone has a lovely Easter! (My Internet is spotty, saying in advance, just in case!) oh and happy over one month of marriage Braden and becca, still goin strong??

I digress, hope you all think this plan is a good one and we can find a date that works!

What a special family!!!! I love it! For anyone looking for a husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc. the Dawahare clan is a good selling point. It worked for Jack! Haaaaa!!!!

¡Bueno! I'm so excited you all think its a good idea! Now, for the difficult part, finding a date that works.
Is any out of town family planing on coming to Lexington anytime this summer? Or any Lexington family leaving for vacation?
I was thinking sometime on Friday or Saturday the 21st/22nd of June.

Spindletop would be fun- is anyone a member? Or something like it? Or a pool day and house cookout? Y'all can decide.

Also, is almost everyone represented in this group?

Ps where I ended up after the bus trip, worth it!

I think it is a great idea too. It is possible we would come in for it. We would just need the date as we currently don't have any plans.

Polo Club would be fun. Could grill out and kids could swim.  Play tennis and ball and frisbee.  However in looking at calendars, we have weddings June 1,8 and wedding parties that we are helping to host, June 15,22.  We are available Friday nights 14 and 21 and Sundays too.  Last June weekend looks good.

Hello All,

As you know we have a few graduations this spring.  Mollie graduates on Sunday, May 5^th at 2 pm. 

 

We would like to invite the family to a celebration party (location in Lexington TBD) which will start between 3:30 and 4:00 and go til about 6:00. 

 

The plan now is to have BBQ, beans, slaw and potato salad.  Of course there will be Beer, wine,  bourbon and maybe scotch.

 

If you could please let Theresa or myself know if you will be there, then we will know how to plan.  Email communications will be fine.
