Elaine,

Below is the follow-up on the closed-circuit television (CCTV) films of the combined sewer lines under Elm and Orchard Streets that you kindly posted earlier on the DSNC website, along with a helpful summary by Kevin Roche.

The answer is that there has as yet been no follow-up by the City.  Copper Mill's documents merely address the size not the condition of the lines.

Due diligence on any planning for Elm Street will of course require a professional opinion on when and whether repair work needs to be done.  The CCTV materials, as previously summarized by Kevin Roche, show two out of eight segments in "fair" condition and the remainder in "good" condition.

I would appreciate your posting the current correspondence and any future follow-up.

Many thanks,

Lee

Lee,

Apologies for taking the full ten days to get back to you. I wanted to make sure I turned all necessary stones prior to responding. The Elm and Orchard sewer investigation reports (previously shared) did not precipitate any further memos, reports, or project scoping for either the Elm Street or Orchard Street sewers. As such, you are in possession of the most up-to-date materials for both streets.

Thanks,

Kevin Roche, PE (MA)

Hi Kevin,

This is to request any memoranda, correspondence, staff evaluations or internal reports relating to the CCTV records you provided on Elm Street and Orchard Street.

The possibility of high-rise development on Elm Street has sparked interest in the follow-up and timing of any remedial actions that the sewer reports may have occasioned.  If there are no such materials,  I'd be interested in that as well.

With thanks, as always, for your prompt attention,

Lee

Please substitute for previous message, which misstated Kevin Roche's good summary. Lee
