If you are looking to volunteer locally, there are a couple opportunities coming up:

Tree Planting with the Mystic River Watershed Association
  • Monday, May 4th, 9AM-12PM - Community Tree Planting Day, 20 Vernon Street, Somerville - Event Details & Registration
  • Friday, May 8th, 3PM-6PM - Arbor Day Picnic in the Park: Tree Planting with SustainaVille, Lincoln Park, 290 Washington St., Somerville - Event Details & Registration

PorchFest Ambassador

  • Saturday, May 9th - Somerville Arts Council is "seeking approx. 48 community-driven individuals to help keep PorchFest safe, sustainable, and enjoyable. Volunteer ambassadors play a key role in keeping the event organized, safe, and fun for all. This role is about assisting the PorchFest event staff, upholding event guidelines, assisting attendees, and ensuring a smooth experience for everyone." Davis Clean-up

  • Saturday, April 25 - The city is hosting neighborhood cleanups in each ward. "Cleanups start at approximately 10 a.m. and conclude at 12 p.m. at the following locations:
  • Ward 5: DPW Building, 1 Franey Rd.
  • Ward 6: Statue Park, Davis Square (the central plaza opposite One Davis Square)
  • Ward 7:  Corner of Holland Street and Broadway, Teele Square"
