Hi, I wonder what are the pros and cons for David346 Color vs Mono? Is there any guidance how to choose between the two. I am aware of the differences in terms of color filter array (Bayer filter), Ultra thick MLS micro-lens array roughly, but not sure practically how much more sensitivity the mono version could bring in to the applications. What do you normally use? Is color or mono more popular?

Thanks.

Unless you have specific need for the color information as part of your
planned algorithms, where you know your scenes will have clearly
separate color components (like looking at a red ball bouncing off a
blue wall or something), I'd recommend the Mono variant. It is more
light sensitive (the bayer filters on Color do reduce light passing
through) and the output generally easier to use. I believe it has been
the more popular choice historically.
