DAVIS346: frames blocked when synchronization cable connected, but events are generated.

Hi,

I'm using DAVIS346 mono with a 3-pin synchronization cable: signal_in, gnd_in and vdd_in.

The signal is generated by a PWM model with 30Hz and 50% width. Signal_in and vdd_in are both 5V.

I chosed "Frames and Events" mode on DV-gui,

Events are shown and can be saved into .aedat4 file, trigger signals can also be extracted which are correct.

However, when the sync. cable is connected (specificallly, when siganl_in & gnd_in, or vdd_in & gnd_in are connected), the frame are blocked.

Not shown in DV-gui visualization module or saved into the aedat, events are normal.

Any solutions?

Hi,

I also tested the signal_in today, which is generated by a signal generator.

The peak value is 5V but falled to approximately 2.8V when the camera is connected (with or without the USB3.0 cable).

I changed the sync. cable but nothing changed.

Hello, a similar report here. Did you/anyone solve the problem?

We have 3.3V sync signals at 30Hz.

In our case, regardless of the connection (siganl_in, gnd_in, and vdd_in), when I turn on the external trigger, the frames are not recorded.

When I turn it off, the frames are recorded.

Also, the timestamps of the trigger and the frames seem to be too offset, like 2000 sec (not ms or microsec).

Is it possible to obtain frames and triggers at the same time?

Hi, sorry for the second post - a small update on investigation.

I used the rpg_dvs_ros to check the topics during external triggers coming into DAVIS.

The recording with the external trigger always on seems not publishing the /dvs/image_raw topic, while recording without trigger seems fine.

I would appreciate it if you could navigate me on how to fix this.
