Hi D-RUGgies!
This week from 10-10:45am, Elise will be showing you how to run your R code on a super computer (aka the Hive high performance computing cluster). Hive is accessible to everyone at UC Davis regardless of lab or college affiliation. However you do have to request access which can take ~2 hours to get approved, so if you want to follow along on your own computer registering now via
HiPPO is a good idea. Select "publicgrp" and "ondemand" access.
Running code on a supercomputer can give you access to more memory, more processing power and a standard environment that people from across the university can run code on (no working about operating systems and software compatibility)
We will be meeting this Thursday (2/20) from 10-noon virtually and in
person in the DataLab classroom (Library 360). After 10:45am this will be a group working
session so come with your questions
for our expeRts, or just bring your laptop and
get in some distraction free R-coding time.
Datalab will also be open for Tea
Time Thursday afternoon.
Tea Time: 1-2pm, DataLab Classroom, Library 360
Please consider posting your questions to our Discourse site
in advance
of attending D-RUG virtually. This helps us do a better job of
answering your questions, and also keep a log of the types of questions
we see frequently.
See you then,
Your D-RUG Coo[R]dinators
