Friends,

Since the hiring of Bari Weiss, The New York Times Op-Ed page has gone pretty haywire.

One of its more recent hires was the popular TV pundit Ezra Klein, who writes a column and does a podcast:

He just gave his podcast over to our dear friend Ross Douthat, who chose to invite the radical Trumpscum Catholic Sohrab Ahmari:

Ahmari has been given free reign over the Trumpscummy New York Post Op-Ed page, where he makes Ayaan Hirsi Ali look like Noam Chomsky:

I would like to note that Ahmari’s Neo-Con radicalism was first presented in the SHU while he was still a rising star at Commentary magazine:

That first SHU appearance was in 2011, when he went after Reza Aslan’s anthology of Middle Eastern literature.  It was at that time I took notice of his self-hating Orientalist tendencies, which led him to the wild and wacky world of Trump Fascism:

From Bernard Lewis-style Imperialism, Ahmari moved to take on the Conservative Movement as a whole, as we saw in L’Affaire French.  I include Ahmari’s article against Never Trumper David French, as well as responses from Tikvah stalwarts Bret Stephens and Liel Leibovitz.

Shortly after I prepared this cover letter, the French matter got even more interesting:

I will be including the Bari Weiss-Rufo approved article in a future newsletter, but its inclusion shows us that the Neo-Cons have absolutely no sense of their complicity in the problem and the manner in which the Sohrab Ahmaris are their own creation:

The Daily Beast’s Lloyd Grove wrote a profile of Ahmari that reviews his strange ideological evolution and what it means for the Conservative Movement.  It is all about the Authoritarian, in its many ugly manifestations.

We close this special newsletter with a Witherspoon Institute tribute to Ahmari’s radicalism by Daniel Mahoney that further exposes the radicalism of the Religious Right in the post-Trump era.

My intent in preparing this special newsletter is to provide context for the Douthat-Ahmari exchange and what it might portend for the future of Catholic Fascism in the Age of Rapist Kavanaugh and Whore of Trump Coney Barrett, who are now uniting with Pornographer Thomas to eviscerate our heritage of Civil Liberties in favor of Religious Theocracy.  It is a development that is sure to find favor with Tikvah Rabbi Meir Soloveichik and his pal Senator Mike Lee.

It is what the 1/6 Insurrection means when it comes to the ongoing Culture Wars that continue to plague this country.
