We are by now quite familiar with Nunes, the Congressman who does not believe in America and its Constitutional values.
For this Trump dirtbag, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, all that matters is keeping the Messiah Trump shielded from the Law by shutting down the Mueller probe:

The Traitor Nunes has been ably assisted in his dirty deeds by the House “Freedom” Caucus, led by Benzadrine Jordan and Trey Gowdy in their truly shameless attack on the Department of Justice and FBI:

He has also found an ally in loyal Trumpscum Alan Dershowitz who has also attacked Rosenstein and, in a true turning of the tables, told him not to “bully” Congress!

But this was not how it always was in this country.
For those who might not remember, here is the text of Article 1 of the US Constitution:

And here is the key provision of the Article mandating the Separation of Powers which requires that the Legislative Branch serve as a check on the Executive Branch:
The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.

Here is what he said in 1796 as he left office:

We would do well to heed those prescient words in the degenerate Age of Trump.

Speaking at a private fundraiser for Washington state Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Nunes articulated what we have known implicitly for some time now: he refuses to check the criminal behaviors of the Executive Branch, and sees his job as personal bodyguard for Trump and his Criminal Mafia.
He has worked overtime to obstruct a proper House investigation into the Russia matter:
It is nevertheless still shocking to hear the secret tape; the words cut like daggers into our Constitutional Democracy and show Nunes and the Republican Party to be Enemies of the State.
The key point in his lawless discourse is the prominent reference to the Impeachment of Deputy AG Rosenstein, formal head of the Mueller Russia Investigation, and its direct connection to the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court:

Nunes makes it clear on the tape that the House Republicans still want to get rid of Rosenstein, against Speaker Paul Ryan’s feeble protestations to the contrary, but it must be done after Kavanaugh is installed:

The reason for this is to ensure that, if and when any case involving Trump is heard by the Supreme Court, Kavanaugh will act as an additional prophylactic, like Nunes, to protect Trump and shield him from the Law.
We have already seen how Kavanaugh is a threat to the Rule of Law:

Along with radical nihilists Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and the newest extremist Neil Gorsuch, Kavanaugh promises to be a solid member of the pro-Trump bloc on the Court.
The assumption in Trumpworld is that John Roberts will rubber-stamp any necessary rulings to help save the New Duce from criminal prosecution and Impeachment, though it is not at all clear that the image-conscious Roberts will want to go down in the history books as the Chief Justice who enabled Donald Trump evade the Rule of Law and destroy our Constitution!
As we see Trump and his attack dog Rudy Giuliani continue to play Reality TV games with the Rule of Law, their lapdog Devin Nunes is leading the Congressional charge to undermine our legal system and the Constitutional protections that ensure proper governance in this country.
