Each year at this time the machers at The Tikvah Fund tell us what to read:
The first thing that struck me after reading these Mosaic authors’ picks was that Matti “Mizrahi Nation” Friedman had no Mizrahi books on his list:

Friedman has made a big production about the Israeli Mizrahim, largely because, as we have seen, they are now fully integrated into the White Jewish Supremacy and have no idea who they are and where they come from. They have become reliable Arab-haters in their House Negro role in the HASBARAH construct.
I was also taken with the multiple mentions of a book on Judaism by Bar-Ilan professor and Efrat settler Moshe Koppel by Sarah Rindner, Haviv Rettig Gur, and Michael Weingrad:

Rabbi Yehoshua Pfeffer, head of Tikvah’s Haredi division, gave us the following entry on Beirut-born Self-Hater Gal Saad that illuminates just how Sephardim seek to eviscerate their heritage:

He describes the book and its author in a way that shows us how apostate Arab Jews can easily integrate into the Tikvah Straussian weltanschauung:
Saad was born in Beirut to a traditional Jewish family, experiencing a fair amount of discrimination and persecution before miraculously escaping (his words) Lebanon in 1975. The book includes many anecdotes and some wicked sarcasm; it is also so well-written, and so free of academic obfuscations, that I consumed it in just a few days.
The Parasitic Mind is a worthy addition to the growing body of literature critiquing “The Great Awokening” of our times. While by no means the first to rally against the injustices of political correctness and the enforcement agencies of intellectual tyranny, against the “ethos of feelings” that has replaced the “ethos of truth and wisdom,” and against the politics of tribalism that has superseded that of reason, it is certainly one of the more eloquent manifestos I’ve read in favor of a meritocratic, free society that encourages personal responsibility as opposed to victimhood, truth as opposed to its postmodern deconstruction, and (Western) liberty as opposed to (Islamist) tyranny.
But beyond its elegant prose and its convincing—and chilling—depiction of the ailments plaguing our modern era of discontent, certain elements of The Parasitic Mind gave me pause. Saad chides harshly those who identify with his views yet are reluctant to express them for personal reasons. But the biblical prophet Zechariah teaches us that we must love both truth and peace, and, as one ancient rabbinic source points, we must sometimes find a compromise between these inherently contradictory goods. While Saad’s “in your face” approach is at times right and necessary, at others it is not.
Saad also writes that his love of truth and freedom drove him to leave religion: “My inquisitive nature felt stifled by religious dogma. I found no freedom in religious practice.” I find the implicit claim that (Jewish) religion is incompatible with freedom and reason no less of a wakeup call than Saad’s polemic against trendy illiberalism, and it seems his uncompromising individualism, prominent throughout the book, leaves little room for community, for custom, or for God. Thus Saad rejects values that I hold to be no less crucial than those he affirms. This too, left me thinking about the complex relationship between these two sets of values.
The Haredi Pfeffer strongly recommends a book by an Atheist!
It is the Straussian way.

Regnery, was a founding member of the America First Committee, dedicated to maintaining American neutrality towards Nazi Germany. His uncle, Henry, was the founder of Regnery Publishing, a right-wing press that has published conservative luminaries ranging from William F. Buckley and Jack Welch to Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin.
And as Anti-Semites:
This was accomplished not through taking leadership roles, but rather working behind the scenes to set up and fund a network of racist and anti-Semitic groups, websites, publishers, and conferences. This network revolves around two key organizations built by Regnery: the Charles Martel Society, and the National Policy Institute.
And as Anti-Sephardic!
Regnery founded the Charles Martel Society in 2001, setting it up as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that he described as the “home of Western Nationalism.” He named the Society for the 8th-century Frankish ruler famous for defending Gaul, in western Europe, against an invading army of Andalusian Muslims. Martel has taken on great symbolic importance in some white supremacist circles; the Martel Society describes his victory as “perhaps the most important in European history, [it] meant that the future of Europe would lie in European traditions and culture, not those of the alien Middle East.”

The Saad book is naturally recommended by the infamous Jordan Peterson:

And this naturally leads us to Voltaire, whose Candide is recommended by our Spinozist Straussian friend Ed Husain:

He included a mention of Isaac de Pinto in relation to the ongoing debate:

The “enlightened” Voltaire was a true fanatic:

That is not how those who were arguing for and against the emancipation of the Jews, both in his own time and in the next several generations, read him. Jacobins such as Jean Francois Rewbell in the 1790's and the socialist Pierre Proudhon in the next generation are among the many figures, especially of the left, who justified their arguments against the Jews by quoting Voltaire. Such figures were not quarreling with Judaism; they were attributing innate wickedness to the Jewish character. This is racist anti-Semitism. Such opinions helped open the door to the horrors of our century.
Husain apparently knows this, but praises the racist anyway, and adds a shout-out to Spinoza as well:
I have also been reading Voltaire’s Candide (1795). The author was no friend of Jews or Muslims, but he learned much from John Locke and Isaac Newton and then helped change France. Locke and Voltaire’s writings on tolerance and free inquiry bequeathed the Enlightenment and the modern world to us. They uprooted dogma and set us free as citizens. Today, we take liberty and citizenship, nation state and the rule of law for granted. By reading Voltaire, we are reminded of the darkness from which Europe emerged and with it, the United States. “If you want the present to be different from the past, study the past,” warned Spinoza. Civilization is fragile.
Husain, like his Tikvah colleague Pfeffer, shows us how politics does indeed make for some very strange bedfellows!

Rabbi David Wolpe sings the praises of Moshe Halbertal’s new book on one of the most vicious of the Anti-Maimonideans:
One of the great minds and spirits of our people, commentator, moralist, kabbalist, philosopher, polemicist, and more, Naḥmanides is too little-known outside of the source-studying Jewish community. Moshe Halbertal’s learned, lucid, and wonderfully far-reaching study should be pressed eagerly into the hands of all who want to know a giant of our people in his great complexity.
In her Amazon review of the book, it was the only review I could find, someone named Beth Shulam highlights the Anti-Maimonidean value of Halbertal’s achievement:
This extensive work by Moshe Halbertal is essential for the student of advanced
Jewish Studies. From the Introduction:
“The present book attempts to provide a broad,
systematic account of Nahmanides’s thought: his conception of halakhah and his
approach to the central concerns of medieval Jewish thought, including his
conception of God, history, revelation, and the reasons for the commandments.”
The author makes his case that Naimanides is the superior thinker in Medieval
Jewish thought, as he was a fully rounded scholar of both the Askenasi and
Sephardi camps.
We should note that Halbertal has also written an ineffectual book on Maimonides:
