To understand why this is a big deal, it’s important to know the topics Yasmine covers on her account. From a Mizrahi background, Yasmine puts hours of labor into the posts she makes to educate people on Jewish history. She is incredibly even-handed in that she understands and talks about the Palestinian narrative as well, but regularly points out to people that without the creation of the State of Israel, many of her family members would have been murdered and she would never have been born. She is never inflammatory – even when angry she talks calmly – and she truly aims to create dialogue. I’ve never once seen her do or say anything even close to actually violating community standards.
The Instagram site is private, so I could not read the posts – but will take Calvo at her word.
It seems that Yasmine, like Calvo and Hen Mazzig, is a firm believer in the Lyn Julius version of Arab Jewish history with its fierce Islamophobia and utter lack of knowledge of the classical Sephardic tradition.

It is sadly very common these days to see Sephardim fronting for White Jewish Supremacy, as Ashkenazim control all levers of Jewish education, and Zionist tyranny grips the minds of Jews too weak to fight back.
As I said, HASBARAH is itself a silencing force that does not permit free and open discussion of issues – particularly when it comes to White Jewish Supremacy.
The Ashkenazi-controlled Jewish media does not want to hear what it does not want to hear, and only provides access to those Sephardim who loyally tow the White Jewish line:

Calvo angrily informs us about Yasmine that “without the creation of the State of Israel, many of her family members would have been murdered and she would never have been born.”
This is presented as not in any way being “inflammatory”!
Indeed, each individual case is different, but the Middle Eastern Jews were largely supportive of the Ottoman government and were not in serious danger of being “murdered” until the State of Israel was actually founded.
The Ottoman Jews were led by the Hakham Bashi Haim Nahum Effendi, a legendary and beloved figure, who eventually landed in Egypt where he died in 1960 – of natural causes:

Calvo and her friend Yasmine seem to have difficulty understanding the chain of events in the Middle East, and the deleterious effects that both the Ottoman collapse and the Zionist ascendance had for the native Jews of the region.
Indeed, they are too busy following the HASBARAH script.

It is certainly true that two wrongs do not make a right, and that we have had to face trouble wherever we have gone in the wake of Israel’s founding.
Between the proverbial rock and hard place.
We unceremoniously left the Arab-Muslim world, and came to Ashkenazi Israel which stripped us of our culture and dignity, and ultimately turned us against ourselves.
The matter is thus far more complicated than the Self-Haters would have us believe.
But factual history is not important to them. What is important is the HASBARAH impulse and the warm feelings that it inspires in the tender souls of these young Sephardic Jews and their pressing desire to be just like the Ashkenazim.
Sadly, these Self-Hating Sephardim have no real understanding of our classical heritage, and even less concern for the dangers of the White Jewish Supremacy that has helped to set off the conflicts that continue to engulf the Middle East; conflicts that have been enflamed by Trump and his Settler allies led by the Alt-Right Populists.

Zionist Nationalism is of course a central part of the White Jewish Supremacy and its contempt for Sephardic cosmopolitanism and for Jewish Humanism.
It is therefore critical to understand how and why Sephardim have abandoned their culture, as they have abandoned the political ethos and philosophy that has marked our tradition of Jewish Humanism and its noble legacy; a legacy that has been thrown under the bus by White Jewish Supremacy.
