It should come as no surprise to SHU readers that I have been obsessed with the self-proclaimed YEEZUS, the Greatest Artist of Our Time, for many years now.
Kanye West is not just another degenerate brand name Corporate Hip-Hop macher, but a bona fide cultural phenomenon that has lost none of his appeal to the current Poptrash Idiocracy.
The YEEZUS has just released – or maybe not – a new album whose title bears the name of his late mother, who died tragically because of complications having to do with breast reduction surgery.
Knowing who YEEZUS married – and is now getting divorced from – the irony could not be greater.
West has for many years presented an image of a rapacious rapper that stands in stark contrast with the quietly cerebral life of his mother Donda, who was a college professor of English Literature. Donda West stood for a very different sort of African-American identity than does her son.
As we have seen with the “Donda” album rollout at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, the YEEZUS is full-on greed and hubris, as he lovingly greases the wheels of White Corporate America.
We can see this phenomenon clearly in our first article, a 2019 cover story from Forbes magazine, the classic repository of Cruel Capitalism, that lauds the visionary financial genius of the YEEZUS for all those old White men who may not be up to speed on the sneaker game.
We then move to my articles on the spectacle that was YEEZUS and the First Hip-Hop president.
It must be noted that West, unlike many of his peers, remained loyal to the Hip-Hop icon that is Donald Trump. His support for the Murderer-in-Chief was immediate and consistent.
This created a stir in the African-American community, which intensified when the YEEZUS began to express his very unique thoughts in the Brave New Trumpworld, calling Slavery a “choice.” He would have more to say on Harriet Tubman at a future time.
He went on TMZ and made a fool of himself, but would ultimately not relent, and as we have seen with the massive spectacle of the “Donda” event, has lost very little of his fanbase because of it.
Like his hero Trump, West is very much Teflon.
In addition to the massive support that he offered Trump, he moved into the Christian Evangelical world with his Sunday Service project.
It was indeed an interesting sight to see the purveyor of sexual degeneracy working with fellow snake oil salesman Joel Osteen.
You could just smell the money!
I commented on his classic filth “I Love It,” as it brought him further into Falwell land and into the good graces of Lysol tastemakers like Don Jr. and the FOX News hosts. Please read the lyrics of “I Love It” in full if you have not yet sone so, as the song represents the most basic ethos of its maker and his debased understanding of the world in true Corporate Hip-Hop fashion.
So, as we continue to see, the pusillanimous toady music critics and the mass audience of our Idiocracy remain squarely with the YEEZUS. They have not relinquished any of their love and admiration for him, in spite of the clear fact that he is a deeply disturbed ignoramus whose mercenary values represent the worst of what 1% culture is at the present moment.
It is my contention that West’s massive commercial success has been enabled – and encouraged – by a virulent strain of White Racism that sees him as a Minstrel buffoon whose antics make the Ike Permutter Mar-a-Lago crowd howl with peals of demonic laughter, as they continue to rake in all that Black Panther moolah.
If Kanye West did not exist the White Racists would have to invent him.
And as we continue to suffer the YEEZUS depredations, just remember that Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye once existed in a very different America; an America that now remains, like the classical Sephardic heritage, only in our memories.
