All,

I really enjoyed today's meeting.
I learned a lot and got motivated to do the fun stuff.

Pushing forward in Tech is so much more fun than just
day-in day-out routine.

The website of my artist friend in Tucson is
www.RanchoMilogrito.com
It means Little Miracle Ranch.

He was one of my friends in 1972 when I was in college.
He's another one that follows his own drummer and
takes the path less selected.

Sure had fun today.

I got inspired to contact my Web Site Host Provider and got my account re-instated.
I'm having issues posting my pages to the Host Server.
The WS_FTP Pro that I used previously is not working like it did before.
I have changed from dial-up to Comcast since the last time I did a FTP to my Web Host Provider.
I can go to ftp.sysol.com and see files there but
when I use WS_FTP Pro and do File >  Connect >   the screen displays
Connection Failed.

How do you guys post your Web Pages to your Web Host Server?
WS_FTP?
Drag and Drop?
What tool are you using to upload your pages to the Web Host Server?

Dorita,

I do my own hosting, so I use Visual Studio or Front Page because my servers are IIS with Front Page extensions.

So since your hoster is iQuest (whois says so) you can also use Front Page or Visual Studio to work with your files directly without needing to manual FTP, it is all done with the Connect and/publish functions. Bill, Mike or Doug should be able to show you at DAI.

   Domain Name: SYSOL.COM
   Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, LLC.
   Whois Server: whois.networksolutions.com
   Referral URL: http://www.networksolutions.com
   Name Server: NS1.IQUEST.NET
   Name Server: NS2.IQUEST.NET
   Status: clientTransferProhibited
   Updated Date: 06-oct-2006
   Creation Date: 07-oct-1996
   Expiration Date: 06-oct-2013

Even on the lowest level of iQuest Account - Bronze, they support Front Page.

Now if you have to FTP, explorer (file system, not browser) supports ftp natively. Just put in the url ftp://ftp.sysol.com, and fill in username and password, then it is just like another hard drive attached to you work station.

Hope this helps,

David.

David

I use Front Page to Build My Pages.
I did not know if there was a newer replacement for that.
It had been awhile since I pealed back to this layer of things I enjoy.

Yes.
This Helps.
I always learn good stuff when we communicate.

I'll try updating my site from my laptop instead of my Tower.
Laptop is newer.

Tower keeps saying "Connection Failure"

It is my first time to try to FTP via Comcast instead of Dial-up.
