Lorraine Rekmans's email about the Lessons Learned Action Team is a hopeful sign to me, like the little vegetable shoots popping up in the front yard. I'm writing this in case you missed it—the GPC has invested in the concept of action teams and this is the first attempt to plant those seeds in members' minds.

I find it very hard to relate my story because I feel like an outsider despite being so involved with the Davenport Greens. The experiences I've had since joining the Constituency Association in 2014 haven't completely wiped out my naïveté: I still believe in the best outcomes despite the frustrations that make them seem elusive.

Then I remind myself of my privilege and how to use it: maintain hope and do what's in my power to help. That means being patient and attentive, vulnerable and trusting. Most people don't have the time or energy that being an older adult gives me; their struggles are just too overwhelming and relentless.

I believe in stories and their power to unite, though. I've had little practice in telling mine, which certainly contributes to my finding it difficult. So does the sense that my story wouldn't seem relevant to other Davenport Greens—it's just mine, what meaning can it have for others?

Apparently, though, the tool the GPC's using is very advanced, designed specifically to find value for the community in the quirky experiences of its members. There's enough promise in that unfamiliar path for me to follow it. I know it won't do anybody any good if I hold back because of doubt and fear (did I make the point that I have doubt and fear?).

I'm convinced that humanity's in trouble (duh!). I'm pretty sure that the Party's doing something radical to improve our chances to survive and thrive, something I can have faith in: that if we listen to each others' stories we'll learn how to do the right thing.

All of this comes through my fingers onto the keyboard and to your Inbox because I hope you'll join me in exploring the LLAT's X-Space. My navel-gazing isn't the point. We have work to do!

See you around!
