Hannah Conover-Arthurs is not running again as the GPC candidate in Davenport. She's gone back to ground, literally, helping the
Ubuntu Community Collective start a regenerative farming project. (They're selling jade plants to raise funds.)
Hannah was a great candidate, very quick on her feet, determined and brilliant in mind and spirit.
When Dave Meslin chaired the all-candidates' debate at Oakwood Collegiate in the 2019 campaign, he poked fun at Chai Kalevar, who introduced himself as an independent Green candidate, calling him a "Deep Green". Hannah was next up for introductions and Dave asked her "what kind of Green are you?" Without missing a beat, Hannah joked, "a lime green, I guess."
Here's a memory from a rainy Sept. day during that campaign, Hannah holding forth with the small group who'd been picking up garbage along the railpath:
AGM and Adrian
If you haven't received email about the Davenport AGM on Wed. April 21st, either your membership has expired, your GVote profile is set to block bulk emailing or you just plain don't belong to the coolest political party this side of the Pacific Ocean.
Yes, I support One Time Alliance, but hopefully that alliance will make the GPC even stronger. Nuf said!
The incredibly good news about election preparedness is that Adrian Currie, the Ontario rep on the Federal Council of the GPC, is throwing his hat into the ring.
See you on the 21st (maybe the 14th?).
