I just posted this to the EDA empowerment channel in chat.green.ca:

On Nov. 16th, Natalie emailed members about the decision to postpone the AGM to February. FC heeded the request by Mike Morrice, who "reached out to the GPC Federal Council and asked us to consider postponing the GPC’s AGM to give a competitive Green candidate the best chance to win her seat."

The candidate, Aislinn Clancy, is contesting the Kitchener West seat in the provincial by-election. Natalie wrote, "The mandate of Green parties is to elect more Greens in order that Green policies can be championed."

In fact, our constitution uses the word 'mandate' twice, neither use referring to electing anyone.

The GPC as a means to the end of championing Green policies by electing folks is failing, in my view. The Party has my loyalty not because of our leadership or caucus, but because it holds participatory democracy as one of our six values—things to strive for and organize toward achieving.

To me, failing to hold the AGM this past weekend and failing to hold the loyalty of Indigenous members (IPAC has disbanded and rejected seats on FC) demonstrate the ongoing failure of Elizabeth, Mike and the FC to put our values ahead of the foolish attempt to be like other parties.

I invite you, dear reader, to participate in my Google discussion group,  gpc2 collaboration, "about how a grassroots party gets things done." Please send me a private message here in chat.green to get that ball rolling.
