With the generous help of our amazing funders, we are able to sponsor a division for young Russian-Jewish Philadelphia families. The project titled "Mazal Tov" will feature various programs, retreats, workshops, picnics, etc... for young Russian-speaking Jewish parents and their children. Our first event in this series will take place August 10-12 as a families camping retreat at a beautiful spot by the lake in Poconos. The program will feature nice meals, fun under the sun on the beach, a very special animal and Eagle farm, games for children, relaxation for parents and of course, our very special guests and good friends from New York - THE EXTREMELY TALENTED AND ENTERTAINING ZHENYA PLECHKINA with her ZSHUK JEWISH CHILDREN ART INITIATIVE. Zhenya and her husband Misha will run Jewish Art workshops for children as well as their parents. SPACE IS LIMITED TO 10 Families! ABOUT ZSHUK JEWISH CHILDREN ART INITIATIVE Zshuk, Jewish Children's Art Initiative is an educational program based on a progressive philosophy of education and positive artistic practices. The Initiative is made up of artists, educators, and parents, who transform the community through their cultural presence, role as mentors, and Jewish wisdom. Our goal of transformation will be accomplished through artist practices, youth art and education programs, art shows, guest artist lectures, workshops, and trips. "The genius behind Zshuk Art Initiative is that it engages with children on their own terms. Every participant in Zshuk has something special to offer and a myriad ways to express it.
