For several months now my monitor (ACER V246HL) has been showing a big LEFT shift that completely obliterates my Dock.  I can’t see my Dock Icons and barely see the icon names peeking out.  I cannot even get the apple menu.  I have to set the ratio at smaller setting to even see my dock.  I realize I can set my dock at the bottom or right side…but that does not fix the problem as it stands.
I can’t figure it out.  See my screen pic.
Thanks, Donna

How is the monitor connected? HDMI cable? You might try a different cable.

In System Preference / Displays you might find options for wider or narrower options. I don't remember the exact terminology (overscan or under scan maybe), but when connecting to a TV (not a monitor). Yours is a Monitor. You should look through the menu system on the monitor for something which might reduce the issue.

There you Go!!  The Monitor!  Omg!  The only way to adjust the monitor is on the bottom right side of the frame, it has hard to understand little buttons that you navigate thru to make adjustments.  For a long time I couldn’t understand how to get thru that menu on the monitor itself.  Finally I got into it by noodling around trial and error…many error and fixed it.  The screen looked something like the pic I took when I first got into the menu…I was so amazed that it worked so I took a pic right away.  Then I went about redoing the screen size/adjust.  It was the monitor…not the Mac.  Thank you so much for clueing me into doing that Jim.  That was a HUGE help.  Donna Shelley
