Hi All,
I am still having problems with being in the fFinder and the ball just keeps going. I can open files if I open the application from the dock. Does anyone have any suggestions. Phil suggested safe start. When I tried that, the iMac didn’t like it.

Have you considered reinstalling the system, Mary Ann, from a backup or from the Recovery drive? Not sure what else to suggest without seeing what's going on... CMD-OPT-R at start should bring internet recover, I think.
