Me again. I must have a sign on my forehead. Started when I got the idea I wanted to play Minecraft with my adult son.  I wanted to surprise him with the game.  So I bought the game ($43) and tried to put it on my first old 2010 macmini which I had given him.  Spent a ton of hours to find out the Mac was too old to play the game.  I had redeemed the game already on the 2010 Mac but it was outdated and wouldn’t work.  Spent hours talking to online text “help” with Microsoft (who now owns the game) and they had me verifying over and over who I was with different emails for an hour before coming to the point of the computer saying Exit Code 6.  The “help” timed out and I had to start all over…which at that point I called and tried to speak to an agent to help me.  I could hardly understand him (from India) but after an hour more of verifying who I was I was confused and pissed off.  I just said I’d go to Paypal and ask for a refund of the game and buy it again and put it on a newer computer.  Of course I had to buy it first.

So after a bit of looking I found one.  An M1 Mac Mini from B&H Photo online.  Wasn’t cheap, wasn’t expensive ($399).  So I got it. In setting up the computer with an icloud account, cause he never had one, I found I got a message that said “Cannot set up icloud account at this time”.  What?!!

So I waited a day or so before trying again.  Maybe Apple wasn’t busy now and I could get through.  Same message pops up.

Now I’m angry because now I can’t use this computer either.  Finally got a message saying why.  "The maximum number of free accounts have been activated on this device”. Say what?  Now it’s not free?  This is getting crazy here…what do I do to get a blasted icloud account on this Mac??  I still have the problem of getting the game again and putting it on the M1, that is for another day.  So about the icloud?

Correction: Not bought from B&H, Mac was bought from Amazon.

Ok, I fought the brave fight, and we have everything working ok. But seriously, this verify, verification system is seriously warped.  Deep sigh.
