After removing the fonts and keyboard layout, I opened the preference pane, then i checked the box from the input menu, then i opened the MS Word to see if the fonts and layouts are removed properly or not, i thought i won't be able to type, but i was wondering that what files i removed.
Actually I was facing trouble in typing the Conjunct bangla words since the installations, conjunct words not working as per the typing guide says. That's why i tried to remove it and install again. Now i am confused.
Any fonts which you download you put in Library/Fonts or Home/Library/Fonts. You should see them, in TextEdit for example, when you do Format > Fonts > Show Fonts. Keyboards normally tell you how to install them. When properly installed you will see them in System Preferences/International/Input Menu, where you have to check their box. Also before you type you have to select them in the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen.
Another forum you could try is the one devoted to MS Word for Mac. Be sure to tell them what version of Word you are using. MS itself would tell you Bangla is not supported, but perhaps someone there knows tricks to make it work.
Then the keyboard layout. I first installed the fonts, then the layouts. When i found that the conjunct letters are not working, i removed the fonts and layouts. Then i reboot my machine in safe mode.
But a new trouble i faced after that. Whenever i tried to type in MS word the bangla font Rupali or SolaimanLipi is not working at all. Every time i tried to type bangla other fonts are showing up- sometimes Apple Gothic, sometimes japanese fonts, just couldn't type a single bangla letter.
It does not matter what you install first or second or last for any of this. By "same result", do you mean that no Bangla shows up when you type, even though the Bangla font is selected and you have the Bangla keyboard showing in the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen?
TextEdit and OpenOffice: Yes, thats correct, in flag menu bangla keyboard selected- both Rupali and Unijoy-- one by one, SolaimanLipi font also selected, but couldn't type, as soon as i pressed the key the font is automatically changed- in most cases to Apple Gothic Font or to Japanese fonts.
