Im having my pacemaker generator replaced due to low battery. Mine only lasted for 3 years because it doesn't capture unless the "juice" is turned way up. They don't want to remove the leads because their well founded concern is that I was allergic to the metal when implanted but over the course of time my body learned to accept THESE leads and it may not accept even identical new ones. ANYWAY---I'm highly allergic to contrast dye. They did a heart cath on me before my first procedure and it showed only the mildest plague. In short, my vessels were fine. I understood why the dye was needed then. AT THAT TIME they gave me "a" dose of steroids---I did just fine---but it took 3 months for my blood sugar and all of my blood work to return to normal after ONE dose the day of the procedure.
My procedure is in 17 days. They want to start me on steroids now. I am an RN and I HATE steroids.Oh, they have their place when they are needed but I am not willing to take them "Just in case". If they wanted to give me antibiotics, fine...but steroids are serious stuff.
I am just lost why they'd need contrast dye to unplug and plug in a new one. AND, if something happened that they'd need to do the dye, why couldn't they do the steroids exactly like last time...when I was on the table?
I spoke to a different nurse today that agreed the entire concept of 17 days of steroids for a POSSIBLE need---for which she couldn't even imagine why that would be---sounded ridiculous. She asked a doctor who said that they'd just have IV steroids standing by in case on the day of the generator replacement. Sigh of great relief!!
I hope you do well. I am going to have a new pacemaker with a third lead implanted. I am allergic to contrast dye but they are going to do a venogram first. Do you think I would be taking steroids first? I had thought it would be Benadryl. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks,.
Beneadryl would not be sufficient if you are allergic to dye. When I had my heart cath and pacemaker done there was no time for days of pre-op meds. They just did the steroids IV and i was fine. Check with your dr for the best advice. Best of health to you.
Thanks for your comment. I had only heard that Benadryl was used when allergic to dye. So I guess they just hook me up with the steroid and then the dye at the same time and do the venogram? I am really dreading this as much as the biventricular pacemaker! I have a two lead pacemaker but need the third lead now because of newly developed heart failure.
I've never had a venogram but the angiogram was a walk in the park. It, like the pacemaker implant, was a non event. My problems surfaced AFTER the implant. Their theory is that my body tried really hard to reject it and, thanks be to God, after about 18 months my body finally made peace with THESE leads which is why they are hoping they NEVER have to change these leads---so am I! It took about that long for my wacky rhythms to finally seem to calm down. Aside from the rhythm issues if it could have been done wrong post implant---it was. First, the RN beforef discharged had me take a shower. A BIG no-no for at least a week. Then, without even thinking I lifted a ancient heavy laptop---had to weight 20 pounds or better and swung it up on a table. Within about an hour the site looked like someone had inserted a half of a lemon under my skin. I could go on but....nothing life threatening but what should have been a pretty basic procedure turned into far more than it had to and...mostly all my fault.
Generators can last over a decade if properly maintained, but when it comes time to get the parts where do you even begin? How do you know if its a control board or if its a voltage regulator? What is the difference in the carburetors that we offer or whats the correct service manual for your generator? These are the kind of questions that we deal with on a daily basis so dont hesitate to browse our website in search of parts. If you are struggling then please give us a call and we can look it all up for you. You will have a couple different options here so lets start with Generac parts.
Generac parts are mainly what we specialize here at AP Electric. When you click on the Generac section youll have plenty of options for where to begin your search. Generac has hundreds of thousands of parts and at times it can be hard to know whats what. We did our best to categorize every single part that we offer so that you can pick a section and hopefully find what you need. There are quite a few parts that we dont have on the website and can still get for you. We call these special order parts which just means that we dont normally offer the part so we will order from the manufacturer specifically for you. Since we are ordering it for you these parts arent returnable at all. If you have your model and serial # ready you can contact us about any parts that you may need.
For Briggs and Stratton there isnt much that we can do at the moment. We do offer a few maintenance items, but we dont have access to search for parts on these units just yet. We are going to have that access soon though so once we do we can help you with any Briggs parts you will need access too. We also will be able to help all of you who might have a XL or EXL portable so that you dont have to go back and forth between manufacturers for parts and part numbers.
Weve recently started offering parts for Kohler and can get things for new models as well as the old ones. Similar to the Generac section once you click here youll get a lot of difference options. There are thousands of parts so please dont just pick a part because it looks like the right one. If you have the part number you can enter it into the search and if not then you might need to refer to the owners manual. Since its still fairly new most of the Kohler parts are going to be special order and take at least a week to ship.
The last two sections we can group together since they are arent necessarily about generators. Youll see Cords, Plugs, and Inlet Boxes is listed first. If you are in need of an extension cord for a portable, a plug for a portable/rv, or an inlet box for a portable then this is where you want to be. The second part of this is listed as generator accessories. Now all of these arent just generator parts, but they are things that can be used with the generator so feel free to browse and see if there is anything of use to you.
I've already posted this on the idea station and then realized that I should have asked the community first and see if there is a solution / known issue with frame generator creating new files on disk with each change size.
Change on frame generator should work as change size on any other Content Center element. We need Inventor to push the new size dimensions into all the affected part without creating new files on disk ever time.
It is my understanding (at least with a Vaulted CC) that the old part file is retained when the size is changed. Therefore you now have two part files of different sizes once you check in the assembly.
I have a much larger problem with Tube and Pipe when you change size of the route and all pipe segments update. All those original pipe files are checked-out and there is no way of unchecking them out except to find them in Vault (saved searches or not) and perform the undo checkout.
Do you guys manage to do a final assembly all in one cause I need to modify it a lot of the times before I get it right for fabrication. Depending on our stock, FEA, etc. so I am changing size and shape all the time.
At the moment when you use the CHANGE button even if you do as little as to change the size of the member (not necessarily change family and / or shape) Inventor will create a new file on disk and replace the instance in the assembly.
I can manually go inside the part and change parameter dimensions to increase the size of the member or I can open the Frame assembly (the phantom container) and use Change Size just like any other CC item and with a Rebuild All you can update the end treatments for the frame.
I also understand Autodesk's corporate reasoning of avoiding changes in same part files used in many different assemblies (not just occurrences in the same assembly) only to suit a change in a single assembly. I realize this problem would be very rare for FG parts due to unique file names.
I see the issue with Vault and the old member file being checked out. This file should get checked back into Vault automatically. I think the problem with the old copy of file is due to the automatic naming of the file to a name the corresponds with the steel shape and length.
Since the program only removes the file from the IAM file and doesn't delete the file, Inventor creates a new file with a name that closely matches the steel shape and length. You would need to be careful if you replace a member that has been Re-Used. If Inventor automatically deleted the old member, it would have to do a check if it's been Re-Used.
I affect, the Change button is only a remove member file from the frame assembly and add and place a new member file. There is no file management housekeeping to remove/delete the file from the Work Folder.
