UPDATE:

Following up on today's Internationalization Demo, I'm sharing the test installation information for the Scholars Portal version of Dataverse with french language translation added (relates to internationalization development pull request and history).

Anyone can access from here: http://sand6.scholarsportal.info/ (please note: this is not a stable version and login information is available in the note attached to the message) 

Also attached are a set of slides that outline code changes that make this possible (from Jayanthy Chengan, Senior Developer, Scholars Portal). 

So far, our discussions have included:

  • Additional languages in the database & tab separated files
  • Setting up a key value store
  • Solr indexing / facets 
  • Language settings and toggle button location on the UI 
  • Testing and user feedback 
  • Multilingual data entry / form
We will be adding additional french translations (sent from UdeM), and working with DV team (Gustavo lead) to implement this in future versions of Dataverse. Stay tuned!
