Announcing the upcoming 6.5 release

Hi everyone,

I am writing to let you know about our upcoming 6.5 release, scheduled for the beginning of December.

We are also prototyping a new release strategy to help coordinate work and improve transparency using a main tracking issue: https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse-pm/issues/335. We're also improving the Making Releases guide, too.

The issue mentions two dates relevant to the upcoming 6.5 release.

Community PR Last Call: FY25 Sprint 10, on 2024-11-06
Core PR Last Call: FY25 Sprint 11, on 2024-11-27

These are the last dates we will consider merging pull requests from the Community and the core development team, respectively. These deadlines will help us to further streamline our release process.

Relatedly, we are also testing a new process for triaging Community PRs with the goal of reviewing and merging Community PRs more quickly.

Please monitor the 6.5 milestone for updates on bug fixes and new or improved features. And, as always, thanks to everyone in the Dataverse Community for your contributions, suggestions, and support!
