Hello, I finally was able to install Dataverse 4.9.2, I have had an unusual behavior (compared to the online demo site) where most links and actions request login even though I have already logged in.

If I go to /dataverse_homepage.xhtml it requires me to log in, I log in and it redirects me to the page /dataverse_homepage.xhtml;jsessionid=e6340f9f46ddc3e14e9d2c7b9319 and it I click on the dataverse logo at the top right hand corner, the link is /dataverse_homepage.xhtml and again it takes me to the login form page, I log in and it takes me to the page.

I have this behavior when I am in the Dashboard and click on Manage Clients or Manage Users, also when I search something, before displaying the results it requires me to log in. I don't know if I missed a configuration step but this is really annoying if anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

I have noticed that this happends with the links that don't pass the jsessionid variable on the URL.

Hmm, patching Weld usually fixes it. Is there anything out of the ordinary about your configuration? The behavior you're describing is definitely not normal.

For what it's worth, I've only seen URLs from dataverse with jsessionid in them when cookies are disabled (either in a browser, or in curl/wget).

Yeah, I usually on see the jsessionid on a new browser I haven't used yet. Or if I clear the browser cache. On the second click, the jsessionid is not longer present in the URLs, usually. Again, I'm wondering if some config is slightly different than what we expect.

Also FWIW - I think we saw this on AWS at one point with a load balancer and the solution was to adjust some 'stickiness' policy. The clue that the problem was server side was looking in the browser console and seeing a jsession cookie sent and a new one being returned in the server response (I think it tried to set a cookie and added it to the URL).

Not really, I followed the steps, I am running dataverse on a virtual machine on CentOS7. I am going to patch Weld againa and do a fresh install of Dataverse. I'll post if the problem persists.
