Open Call for Innovative Uses of COAR Notify

COAR is currently having an open call to identify potential new use cases for the COAR Notify protocol, through the prototyping of innovative implementations of the protocol for linking, interacting or integrating repository resources with other services or resources.

Deadline: January 18, 2026.

Yes I think Jim is working on some newer version of this integration through GDCC, is that right?

We have also been involved in testing the old COAR Notify integration with DV from some years ago, albeit it's very manual with only notifications going to installation superadmins notifications.  

Also, some members of our DSpace consortium (Scholaris) aren't using DOIs via DataCite, and they see this as a possible method for notifying Borealis Admins about linkages to articles/publications, to help streamline this publication - dataset linkage workflow, although admittedly I'm only familiar with the Related Publication and Relation Type via DataCite, and was hopeful this would improve with Make Data Count. 

Borealis would like to explore this COAR Notify approach further to enhance this process for collection admins and repository integrations for linking related scholarly objects. 

Any other thoughts or interest in how this works with Dataverses?
